Turmeric leaves kadubu Recipe

Its a sweet delicacy made with rice flour, coconut & jaggery. Coconut-jaggery mixture is stuffed in rice flour dough & steamed wrapped in turmeric leaves. Turmeric leaves impart a very good aroma to this authentic sweet. In the absence of turmeric leaves you can use banana leaf also. This sweet is served topped with ghee.

Ingredients for Turmeric leaves kadubu Recipe

  • 1/4 cup Fresh coconut
  • 0.13 cup Jaggery
  • 1/10 tsp Cardamom powder
  • 1/10 tbsp Ghee
  • 0.13 cup Rice flour
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/20 tsp Salt

Directions: Turmeric Leaves Kadubu Recipe

  • STEP 1.Into a pan add coconut, jaggery, ghee.
  • STEP 2.Stir on med. flame till mixture binds together .
  • STEP 3.Add cardamom powder ...stir well.
  • STEP 4.Turn off heat...keep this aside.
  • STEP 5.Into another pan pour water...add salt.
  • STEP 6.Add rice flour once water starts boiling.
  • STEP 7.Stir till flour absorbs all water.
  • STEP 8.Turn off heat..let cool.
  • STEP 9.Once cool knead the dough well.
  • STEP 10.Devide into big lemon size portions.
  • STEP 11.Take some turmeric leaves...wash them well.
  • STEP 12.Spread the dough on leaves into a layer.
  • STEP 13.Place coconut stuffing.
  • STEP 14.Fold into half & seal the edges.
  • STEP 15.Prepare all like this.
  • STEP 16.Heat water in a steamer.
  • STEP 17.Place all turmeric leave kudubu.
  • STEP 18.Steam for 20 to 30 min.
  • STEP 19.Serve warm with ghee.
