#bread This is a famous Turkish recipe popular throughout the Middle east region. A very soft, butter flavoured multiple layers snack with delicious feta cheese stuffing. With little effort, you can make this irresistible snack at home for your family.

Ingredients for Turkish Feta Cheese Bread Parcels Recipe

  • 0.42 cups All purpose flour
  • 0.08 cup warm milk
  • 0.08 cup Warm Water
  • 0.06 cup olive oil
  • 0.08 cup Yoghurt
  • 0.17 tablespoon Sugar
  • 0.08 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.08 teaspoon Dry Active Yeast
  • 8.33 gm Melted Butter
  • 0.08 Tbsp Milk to brush
  • 16.67 gm Feta cheese
  • handful Chopped parsley or coriander leaves
  • 1/2 Pieces Olives

Directions: Turkish Feta Cheese Bread Parcels Recipe

  • STEP 1.Take 1cup of warm water and 1 cup of warm milk in a container.
  • STEP 2.Add 2 tablespoon of sugar and 1 teaspoon of yeast.Mix and keep aside for 8 to 10 minutes to broom the yeast.
  • STEP 3.When yeast brooms transfer the mixture to a big mixing bowl.Add oil, yoghurt/curd(room temperature) and salt to the yeast mixture.
  • STEP 4.Mix well with a fork and slowly add maida or all purpose flour.
  • STEP 5.Add 1 cup maida at a time and mix until a very soft and sticky dough forms.I used 5 cups of flour total, you may have little less or more.
  • STEP 6.Cover the dough and keep in a moderately hot place for 2 hours or until the dough becomes double in size.
  • STEP 7.In the meantime for the stuffing take feta cheese,chopped parsley/coriander leaves, chilli flakes and olives in a bowl.
  • STEP 8.Mix everything well and keep aside.
  • STEP 9.When the dough becomes double in size take out in a flour dusted working surface of kitchen.
  • STEP 10.Knead for few minutes and then make large lemon size balls. I made 12 balls out of the dough.
  • STEP 11.Take a ball and roll it to make a thin round sheet/roti.
  • STEP 12.Transfer to another place and spread some melted butter with a brush to the surface of the roti.
  • STEP 13.Roll another roti and place it over the previous brushed roti.Again spread some melted butter over the roti.
  • STEP 14.Repeat the process for total 6 times to make 6 layers of roti with melted butter.

  • STEP 15.With your hands press and spread the layered roti to make it thin.

  • STEP 16.Also use a rolling pin to make the roti thin and big.
  • STEP 17.Now cut the sheet/roti with a knife as shown in the picture.

  • STEP 18.Take one portion, spread a little and stuff 1 tablespoon of prepared feta cheese mixture.

  • STEP 19.Fold the sheet to make a parcel.

  • STEP 20.Keep it in lined baking tray.
  • STEP 21.Like this make other parcels as you like. There is no definite shape to make, make the parcels as you like.
  • STEP 22.Keep all the parcels in the baking tray and brush with milk.
  • STEP 23.Keep aside the tray again for 20 – 30 minutes and then bake them in a preheated oven at 200 degree C for 20 minutes or until they become golden brown.
