Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Start by slicing the turkey breast into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick.
  • STEP 2.In a bowl, combine soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, honey, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and liquid smoke.
  • STEP 3.Place the turkey strips in a ziplock bag and pour the marinade over them. Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  • STEP 4.Preheat your oven to 175°F (80°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • STEP 5.Remove the turkey strips from the marinade and pat them dry with paper towels.
  • STEP 6.Arrange the turkey strips on the prepared baking sheet, making sure they don't overlap.
  • STEP 7.Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 3-4 hours, or until the turkey jerky is dry and chewy.
  • STEP 8.Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
  • STEP 9.Store the turkey jerky in a cool, dry place for up to 2 weeks.

Cooking Tips

  • For a spicier flavor, add some cayenne pepper or chili flakes to the marinade.
  • You can also use a food dehydrator instead of the oven for drying the turkey jerky.
  • Make sure to slice the turkey breast against the grain to ensure a tender jerky.

Storage and Serving

  • Store the turkey jerky in an airtight container or resealable bag to maintain its freshness.
  • Serve the turkey jerky as a snack on its own or use it as a topping for salads, soups, or sandwiches.
  • It can also be a great addition to charcuterie boards or enjoyed with cheese and crackers.
