Ingredients for Tudkiya Bhath Recipe

  • 1 cup Rice
  • 1/2 cup masoor whole/any dal of your choice
  • 2 Onion
  • 2 Potato
  • 1/2 cup thick curds
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 2 Cardamom
  • 2 cardamom black
  • 2 stick Cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoon Ghee
  • As required To Grind
  • 1 Tomato
  • 1 inch Ginger
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • bunch Coriander a small
  • 2 green chillies
  • 2-3 mace strands
  • 2 Star anise
  • 2 Cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon poppy seeds

Directions: Tudkiya Bhath Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Cut and wash the potatoes

step 2

  • STEP 2.Make a paste of the tomato,onion, coriander leaves, garlic,ginger,cardamom,cinamon and poppy seeds

  • STEP 3.Marinate the potatoes with the paste and let it sit for 30mins

step 4

  • STEP 4.Wash and soak the masoor in water. Set aside for about 30 minutes.

  • STEP 5.Wash and rinse the rice. Soak in 2 cups of water.

step 6

  • STEP 6.Heat the ghee in a cooker add bay leaf,cardamom, black cardamom, cinnamon stick and sauté till you get a nice aroma.

  • STEP 7.Add the onions and sauté until translucent.

step 8

  • STEP 8.Add the ground masala and stir fry till you get a nice aroma.

  • STEP 9.Add the curds and stir fry till the oil separates out.

step 10

  • STEP 10.Add the drained rice and masoor and add 3 cups of warm water.

step 11

  • STEP 11.Add salt to taste. Mix well.

step 12

  • STEP 12.Cover with the cooker lid and cook for 2 whistles on high flame.

  • STEP 13.Let the pressure drop naturally before opening.

step 14

  • STEP 14.Serve hot
