Ingredients for Tomato rice Recipe

  • 1 pieces Tomatoes ( cut into pieces)
  • 1/2 cup Pre cooked rice
  • 1/4 cup Onions ( cut into slices )
  • 1 tsp Fennel seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Udad dal
  • sprig Curry leaves
  • 1 Pieces Red chillies
  • 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 4 Pieces Cashew nuts
  • 1/2 Pinches Hing
  • 1 tsp Oil
  • to taste Salt to taste

Directions: Tomato Rice Recipe

  • STEP 1.Make tomato puree with tomato pieces.
  • STEP 2.In a thick bottomed pan heat oil.
  • STEP 3.Add mustard seeds, udad dal, curry leaves, turmeric powder, red chillies and hing.
  • STEP 4.When mustard starts to splutter, add onion slices and saute till the colour changes.
  • STEP 5.Add tomato puree and cook for some time.
  • STEP 6.Mix in chilli powder and salt.
  • STEP 7.Add cooked rice and mix well.
  • STEP 8.Garnish with fried cashews.
