  • STEP 1.Grind soaked rice and urad dal to make a smooth batter.
  • STEP 2.In a separate bowl, mix tomato puree, chopped onions, green chilies, ginger, curry leaves, and spices.
  • STEP 3.Combine the tomato mixture with the idli batter and mix well.
  • STEP 4.Let the batter ferment for a few hours.
  • STEP 5.Grease the idli plates and pour the batter into each cavity.
  • STEP 6.Steam the idlis for 10-12 minutes or until cooked.
  • STEP 7.Serve hot with coconut chutney or sambar.
