  • 1 Green Chilies
  • 1/2 inch Ginger, Chopped

  • 1/2 tablespoon Tamarind Pulp

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Heat oil in a pan and add chana dal. Roast until it turns golden brown.
  • STEP 2.Add chopped tomatoes, green chilies, ginger, and curry leaves. Saute until the tomatoes are soft.
  • STEP 3.Allow the mixture to cool and then grind it into a smooth paste.
  • STEP 4.In the same pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds, urad dal, and dried red chilies. Let them splutter.
  • STEP 5.Add the ground tomato chutney paste, tamarind pulp, salt, and water. Cook for a few minutes.
  • STEP 6.Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with dosa, idli, vada, or as a spread for sandwiches.
