  • 200 gram chicken breast
  • 2 stalk Lemongrass
  • 4 inch Galangal
  • As required Kaffir lime leaves
  • 1 cup Coconut milk
  • As required Asian mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • As required Lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • As required Chili Oil
  • As required Fresh chili
  • As required Green Onions
  • As required Cilantro
  • As required Chicken broth/water

Directions: Tom Kha Gai (chicken Galangal Soup) Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Remove the outer layer of the lemongrass and chop them, also slice the galangal.

  • STEP 2.Cut the ends of the mushrooms, bruise and tear the kaffir lime leaves.

step 3

  • STEP 3.Chop the cilantro leaves for garnishing and the stem for adding to the broth. Also, slice the green onions. Crush the fresh chilies.

  • STEP 4.In a saucepan add 2 cups of chicken broth and then add the sliced lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, and galangal, simmer it for about 5-6mins.

  • STEP 5.Then add the cilantro stems, then add the chicken breast pieces, stir it well. Once it comes to a boil fish sauce and sugar and stirs.

  • STEP 6.And let it boil for 5-6mins and then add the coconut milk, stir it, then add the mushrooms, and let it come to a boil.

  • STEP 7.For serving take a bowl and add 4tbsp lemon juice, 1tbsp chili oil, crushed chilies, sliced green onions, and now add the boiled soup on top slowly and mix it well.

  • STEP 8.Garnish it with some cilantro leaves.
