 This flavourful Asian dish made with mushrooms, tofu, ginger, chillies, corn flour, dijon musturd, honey, sesame oil, soy sauce and some flavourful slices is a delightful treat for your taste buds. This dish can be served with te sides of flat bread, steamed rice or even with a freshly prepared salad for lunch or dinner.

Ingredients for Tofu Mushrooms In Ginger Mustard Sauce Recipe

  • 8-10 Button mushrooms quartered Nos
  • 2 inch Ginger grated
  • 1 finely chopped Red bell pepper Nos
  • 1 cup Tofu
  • 2 tablespoon Corn flour
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper powder coarsely pounded
  • As required Salt
  • As required Red Chilli flakes
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame Seeds
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • As required Sesame oil or regular oil for cooking

Directions: Tofu Mushrooms In Ginger Mustard Sauce Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.In a small mixing bowl add 2 tbsp cornflour and 1 cup of water. Mix well till the cornflour has dissolved and there are no lumps in the mixture.

  • STEP 1.Add 2 tbsp dijon mustard, 1 tbsp soy sauce and stir well. Add 1 tbsp coarsely pounded black peppercorns. Add a little salt to taste.

  • STEP 1.In a heavy bottom pan and 1 tsp of oil, 1 tbsp honey, 1 tsp sesame seeds. Roast in the oil for a few seconds till the splutter.

  • STEP 1.Next add 1 finely chopped red bell pepper, 2 inch ginger grated. Stir fry for about 1 minute, then add 8 to 10 quartered mushrooms and saute on high heat till mushrooms begin to give out moisture.this will take about 1 minute.

step 5

  • STEP 1.At this stage add in 1 cup diced tofu and stir fry for another minute. Finally stir in the prepared mustard sauce and allow the mixture to simmer in the sauce till the sauce thickens. Taste for salt and adjust accordingly.
