A wholesome and high protein paratha made from multi grain flour and stuffed with tofu and methi (fenugreek) leaves. easy to make paratha made with tofu cooked with indian spices and is stuffed into whole wheat flour sheet flavored with different seeds. The paratha are healthy, calcium and protein rich and are a good option for breakfast/ lunch / dinner or are good to pack for lunch boxes. The parathas can be enjoyed with chutney/ pickle/ yogurt/ raita or ketchup.

Ingredients for Tofu Methi Paratha Recipe

  • As required Ingredients for filling
  • 1 cup Grated tofu
  • 1/2 cup Methi leaves chopped
  • 1 No.s Onion Finely Chopped
  • 2 No.s Green chillies finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin powder
  • As required Salt
  • As required Ingredients for paratha
  • 1.50 cup Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1/4 cup Bajra flour
  • 1/4 cup Jowar flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 3 tablespoon Nutralite garlic and oregano spread for dough and frying

Directions: Tofu Methi Paratha Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.-1)in a mixing bowl add 1 ½ cup whole wheat flour, ¼ cup bajra flour, ¼ cup jowar flour. To this add 1 tbsp nutralite garlic and oregano spread and mix well into the flour. Adda pinch of salt. Add a little water at a time and knead to make a firm and smooth dough. Divide the dough into large lemon size balls. Keep it aside.

step 2

  • STEP 2.-2)in a mixing bowl, add 1 cup grated tofu, ½ cup chopped methi leaves, 1 onion finely, 2 green chillies finely chopped, 1tsp cumin powder and salt to taste and mix well to combine. Taste and check for salt and jeera powder. Keep aside.

step 3

  • STEP 3.-3)dust the flat surface with flour and dust the ball of dough and roll it into a 3 inch diameter circle and place a portion of stuffing into the centre. Stretch the edges and pull them together. Pinch the edges closed to bake a stuffed ball shape. Press and pinch it together. Dust it with a little more flour and roll it out. Keep the paratha thick.

step 4

  • STEP 4.-4)on the hot tawa melt 1 tbsp nutralite garlic and oregano spread. Once it melts place the paratha on the tawa. Fry on medium heat for a few seconds and then flip it over, smear nutralite garlic and oregano spread. Gently press and turn the paratha with a flat spatula to ensure that it cooks through. Cook till it is browned and crisp on both sides.

step 5

  • STEP 5.-5)serve it hot.
