Ingredients for Thrissur Style Kinnathappam Recipe

  • 0.13 cup Raw rice/White Rice
  • 0.19 cup Thick coconut milk
  • 0.13 pinch Salt
  • 0.88 tablespoon Sugar
  • 0.03 teaspoon Cumin
  • As required Coconut Oil for greasing

Directions: Thrissur Style Kinnathappam Recipe

Preparation Directions

  • STEP 1.Take some water in a bowl and add 1 cup raw rice. Soak it for 3hrs. Drain off the excess water.

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Take a jar and add rice, 3tbsp sugar, a pinch of salt and 1/4tsp cumin. Gradually add some coconut milk and grind it to prepare the batter.
  • STEP 2.Add the remaining coconut milk in the batter. Mix well. Add sugar if required.
  • STEP 3.Let it rest for 3-4hrs.
  • STEP 4.Grease a plate with oil. Pour 3ladle batter on the plate. Cover it with foil paper and make tiny holes on it.
  • STEP 5.Boil some water in a steamer and place the plate in the steamer.
  • STEP 6.Let it cook in steam for 10-12 mins.
  • STEP 7.Thrissur style kinnathappam is ready to be served.
