  • 1/2 cup Urad Dal
  • 1 Green Chilies, Finely Chopped
  • 1/2 inch Ginger, Grated
  • pinch A Pinch Of Asafoetida
  • As required Salt To Taste

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Soak urad dal in water for 4-5 hours. Drain the water and grind it into a smooth batter.
  • STEP 2.Add salt, chopped green chilies, ginger, and asafoetida to the batter. Mix well.
  • STEP 3.Heat oil in a deep pan and drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and crispy.
  • STEP 4.Soak the fried vadas in water for a few minutes and then squeeze out the excess water.
  • STEP 5.Whisk yogurt with salt and a pinch of sugar. Add the soaked vadas to the yogurt and let them soak for 1-2 hours.
  • STEP 6.Garnish with chopped onions, coriander leaves, sev, and a sprinkle of red chili powder.
  • STEP 7.Serve the thair vada chilled as a snack or as a part of a meal.
