  • 1 cup Rice
  • 8 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • As required Tamarind Mix
  • 30 gram Tamarind Big lemon size
  • 4 tablespoon Cooking Oil
  • 3 tablespoon Ground But
  • 2 teaspoon Gram Dal
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • 6 Red Chillies
  • 3 Green Chillies
  • 2 sprig Curry Leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon Asafoetida Powder
  • 2.75 As required Salt or tsp
  • As required For Masala Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Urad Dal
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander Seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon Fenugreek Seeds
  • 1 teaspoon White Sesame Seeds

How to Make Temple Style Tamarind Rice Recipe

STEP 01

Soak the rice in water for 30 mins

STEP 02

Take 2 cups of water, soaked rice and 1 tsp of oil in a pressure cooker

STEP 03

Cook upto 3 whistle

STEP 04

Soak the tamarind for 30 mins and squeeze out the pulp and seeds

STEP 05

Heat the pan with oil

STEP 06

Add 2 tbsp of ground nut and fry on medium flame

STEP 07

Add chana dal,urad dal, mustard seeds,2 red chilies, green chilies and curry leaves

STEP 08

Add tamarind water and turmeric powder

STEP 09

Add salt to taste and keep aside

STEP 10

Dry roasted gram dal,urad dal,coriander leaves, dry red chilies,sesame seeds

STEP 11

Make a dry paste of it

STEP 12

Heat a pan with oil

STEP 13

Add turmeric powder

STEP 14

Mix it with the rice

STEP 15

Add the dry masala powder prepared and mix well

STEP 16

Add the tamarind mixture and mix well

STEP 17

Serve as main course
