Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a bowl, combine brewed tea, soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
  • STEP 2.Place the drumsticks in a ziplock bag and pour the marinade over them. Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  • STEP 3.Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Remove the drumsticks from the marinade and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • STEP 4.Bake the drumsticks for 25-30 minutes, or until cooked through and golden brown, flipping them halfway through.

  • STEP 6.Once the drumsticks are cooked, brush them with the thickened sauce and return them to the oven for an additional 5 minutes.
  • STEP 7.Serve the tea-glazed drumsticks hot, garnished with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.

Cooking Tips

  • You can use any type of tea for this recipe, such as black tea, green tea, or herbal tea. Choose a tea with a flavor that complements the chicken.
  • For extra flavor, you can add a splash of rice vinegar or lime juice to the marinade.
  • If you prefer a spicier glaze, increase the amount of red pepper flakes or add a dash of hot sauce.
  • Make sure to baste the drumsticks with the glaze a few times during the last 5 minutes of baking to ensure a sticky and caramelized coating.

Storage and Serving

  • Leftover tea-glazed drumsticks can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • To reheat, place the drumsticks on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes, or until heated through.
  • Serve the drumsticks as a main dish with steamed rice and vegetables, or as an appetizer with a dipping sauce.
