A japanese recipe of dried small sardines cooked in sugar and soy sauce.this Tazukuri candied sardines. Traditionally eaten as part of 'Osechi ryori', this popular side dish consists of roasted baby sardines coated in a sweet soy sauce glaze and symbolises bountiful harvest. The name 'Tazukuri' translates to mean 'making rice paddies', as sardines were once used as fertilisers for rice fields.
