A popular Mumbai street food similar to pav bhaji made with cooked rice tossed in vegetables and pav bhaji masala. A dish made with cooked rice , ginger, garlic, onion, tomatoes, potatoes, sprouts, corriander leaves, emon wedges and spices like pav bhaji masala, chaat masala and some salt.

Ingredients for Tawa Pulao Recipe

  • 2 cup Rice Cooked
  • 1 inch Ginger grated or pounded
  • 2 Garlic grated or pounded cloves
  • 1 Green Bell Pepper finely chopped Nos
  • 1 Onion finely chopped Nos
  • 2 Tomatoes finely chopped Nos
  • 1 Potato boiled and cubed Nos
  • 1/4 cup Green peas steamed
  • 1/2 cup Green moong sprouts
  • 1 teaspoon Chaat Masala Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Pav bhaji masala
  • As required Salt
  • 3 tablespoon Butter
  • As required Ingredients for garnish
  • bunch Coriander Leaves chopped A
  • As required Sev
  • 1/2 Lemon wedged to serve

Directions: Tawa Pulao Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.In a hot kadai add 2 tbsp butter, 1 inch grated ginger, 2 cloves pounded garlic, 1 onion finely chopped, 1 capsicum finely chopped. Saute on low to medium heat for 4 to 5 minutes till the onions and capsicum are slightly tender.

  • STEP 1.Add 2 finely chopped tomatoes and saute till soft, then add 1 boiled, peeled and cubed potato, ¼ cup steamed peas, ½ cup green moong sprouts, 1 tsp chaat masala, 1 tsp pav bhaji masala. Stir to coat all the vegetables well with the masala.

  • STEP 1.At this stage add 2 cups cooked rice and 1 tbsp butter. Stir the rice to combine well with the spices and vegetables. Add chopped coriander leaves and mix well.
