Directions: Tava Fried Stuffed Bread Pakora Recipe

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a bowl, mix mashed potatoes, crumbled paneer, chopped onions, green chilies, coriander leaves, and spices like red chili powder, turmeric powder, and garam masala.
  • STEP 2.Take two slices of bread and spread the potato-paneer mixture evenly on one slice. Cover it with the other slice to make a sandwich.
  • STEP 3.In a separate bowl, prepare a batter by mixing gram flour, salt, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and water. The batter should be thick enough to coat the bread slices.
  • STEP 4.Heat a tava or griddle and add oil for shallow frying. Dip the stuffed bread sandwich in the gram flour batter, making sure it is coated on all sides.
  • STEP 5.Place the coated sandwich on the hot tava and cook on medium heat until it turns golden brown and crispy on both sides. Flip it carefully to cook the other side.
  • STEP 6.Once the pakora is cooked, remove it from the tava and drain excess oil on a paper towel.
  • STEP 7.Cut the pakora into halves or quarters and serve hot with chutney or ketchup.

Cooking Tips

  • You can add grated cheese or any other vegetables of your choice to the potato-paneer mixture for added flavor.
  • Make sure the batter is not too thin, as it may not stick properly to the bread slices.
  • You can adjust the spice levels according to your preference by adding more or less chili powder and green chilies.
  • To make the pakoras healthier, you can also bake them in the oven instead of frying.

Storage and Serving

  • Tava fried stuffed bread pakoras are best served hot and fresh.
  • If you have any leftovers, you can store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • To reheat the pakoras, you can either microwave them for a few seconds or heat them in a preheated oven until they are crispy again.
