Ingredients for Tangy Gongura Thogaiyal Recipe

  • 200 gram Gongura leaves
  • 100 milliliter Sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoon Coriander seeds
  • 1/4 tablespoon Fenugreek seeds
  • 1 tablespoon Cumin seeds
  • 15 Dry red chilli
  • 30 Garlic Cloves
  • 3 Soaked tamarind
  • 1 tablespoon Mustard
  • 2 tablespoon Gram dal
  • 1 Handful curry leaves
  • 1 tablespoon Salt

step 1

  • STEP 1.Soak 3 tamarind in water for 15 minutes.

  • STEP 2.1.heat 2 tbsp sesame oil.

step 5

  • STEP 3.2.then add gongura leaves and cook it for 3-4 mins on medium flame.

step 6

  • STEP 4.3.now take a pot and roast coriander seeds, fenugreek seeds,cumin seeds for 2 mins on medium flame.

  • STEP 5.4.then add 2 tbsp sesame oil and heat it.

step 8

  • STEP 6.5.add 10 dry red chillies and fry for a minute on medium flame.

step 9

  • STEP 7.6.now grind fried red chilli,roasted coriander seeds, fenugreek seeds,cumin seeds.

  • STEP 8.7.add garlic,soaked tamarind,1 tbsp salt,cooked gongura leaves into the paste and grind it.

step 11

  • STEP 9.8.now take a pot,add 100 ml sesame oil and heat,1 tbsp mustard seeds,2 tbsp gram dal,20 garlic cloves and curry leaves.

  • STEP 10.9.mix well.

step 13

  • STEP 11.10.then add 5 dry red chilli,gongura paste and cook on low flame for 5 mins.
