Momos are north eastern steamed dumplings. Tandoori version is north indian street food wherein steamed momis are further roasted or baked after marination. These are extremely flavourful & delicious. Here i made gluten free momos using rice flour.

Ingredients for Tandoori momos Recipe

  • 0.33 cup Rice flour
  • 0.42 cup water
  • 0.08 cup finely cut carrots
  • 0.08 cup finely cut beans
  • 0.08 cup Finely chopped cabbage
  • 0.17 cup Finely chopped onion
  • 0.08 cup finely cut capsicum
  • 0.17 tbsp pepper powder
  • as required Salt
  • 0.67 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
  • 0.17 cup Fresh thick curd
  • 0.33 tsp Red chilli powder
  • 0.17 tsp Turmeric
  • 0.17 tsp Aamchur powder
  • 0.33 tsp Garam masala powder
  • 0.33 tbsp Corn flour

Directions: Tandoori Momos Recipe

  • STEP 1.Making the crust dough...
  • STEP 2.Heat water in a pan with salt.
  • STEP 3.Once it starts boiling add rice flour & stir well.
  • STEP 4.Once flour absorbs all water turn off heat.
  • STEP 5.Making the filling...
  • STEP 6.Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan.
  • STEP 7.Fry 1 tsp ginger garlic paste till raw smell goes.
  • STEP 8.Add all veggies & salt.
  • STEP 9.Stir on med. flame till veggies turn tender.
  • STEP 10.Add pepper powder ...stir well.
  • STEP 11.Turn off heat.
  • STEP 12.Making momos..
  • STEP 13.Knead prepared dough well.
  • STEP 14.Devide into small lemon size portions.
  • STEP 15.Knead each part well.
  • STEP 16.Dust & roll into a roti like disc.
  • STEP 17.Place stuffing in the centre.
  • STEP 18.Bring together edges & seal the momos well.
  • STEP 19.Be gentle in this step as rice flour dough is very delicate.
  • STEP 20.Steaming momos..
  • STEP 21.Grease the steamer plate.
  • STEP 22.Arrange momos on it.
  • STEP 23.Make sure momos are not touching each other as they may stick & break while separating.
  • STEP 24.Steam them for 10 min.
  • STEP 25.Let cool completely.
  • STEP 26.Mix curd, turmeric , 2 tsp ginger garlic paste, red chilli powder , garam masala powder , aamchur, 1 tbs olive oil, corn flour, salt to taste in a bowl.
  • STEP 27.Dunk the steamed momos in it.
  • STEP 28.Be gentle while doing this taking care not to break momos.
  • STEP 29.Let it be like this for 15 min.
  • STEP 30.Heat a pan.
  • STEP 31.Pour olive oil generously.
  • STEP 32.Place the momos & roast on med. flame.
  • STEP 33.Roast all the sides till crisp & red.
  • STEP 34.Serving suggestion ...
  • STEP 35.Place the momos on plate.
  • STEP 36.Sprinkle 1 tsp chaat masala powder , some chopped coriander leaves & onion juliennes .
  • STEP 37.Enjoy hot with a cup of tea or coffee.
