Tamarind chutney can be used for adding to any snack to make it enticing and more tasty. Added to bhelpuris or pani puris , it is a good taste enhancer besides being healthy.
STEP 1.1. Soak the tamarind in a bowl full of water overnight.
STEP 2.2. bring it to boil on medium flame.
STEP 3.3. Once it starts boiling, put off the flame.
STEP 4.4. Press the tamarind through a strainer into a heavy based pan.
STEP 5.5. Place the pan now on a medium flame.
STEP 6.6. Add water and jaggery to it and cook for 3 minutes, stirring all the while.
STEP 7.7. Add cumin powder, ginger powder, black salt and powdered green cardamom to the pan.
STEP 8.8. Boil for 5 minutes to get a thick consistency.
STEP 9.9. Keep aside to cool.
