Ingredients for Szechuan Wonton In Chilli Oil Recipe

  • As required Wonton skins
  • As required Diced scallion for garnish
  • As required Ingredients for filling
  • 1/2 pound Ground Pork
  • 2 teaspoon Garlic Minced
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger grated
  • 0.33 teaspoon Chicken powder
  • 2.50 tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoon Chinese cooking wine
  • 1 tablespoon Water
  • 0.33 teaspoon White Pepper
  • 0.33 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.33 cup Diced scallion
  • As required Drizzle of sesame oil
  • As required Ingredients for chili oil mixture
  • 1 teaspoon Black vinegar
  • 2 tablespoon Diced coriander
  • 2 tablespoon Diced scallion
  • 1-2 tablespoon Homemade chilli oil

Directions: Szechuan Wonton In Chilli Oil Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.1 for the filling, in a bowl add ½ lb ground pork, 2 tsp minced garlic, 1 tsp grated ginger, ⅓ tsp chicken powder, 1 ½ tbsp soy sauce, 2 tsp chinese cooking wine, 1 tbsp water, ⅓ tsp white pepper, ⅓ tsp black pepper, ¼ tsp salt, ⅓ cup diced scallion and a drizzle of sesame oil. Mix all the ingredients well together till well combined. Keep the filling aside.

step 2

  • STEP 2.2 using a square shaped wonton skin, spoon a little filling onto the centre. Wet one edge of the skin and then fold it over the filling. Push out any air and seal the edges together. Then make a small dent along the filling side by pushing it in and bring the two corners on that same side together. Wet them and pinch together to seal.

step 3

  • STEP 3.3 for the chilli oil, in a serving bowl 1 tbsp soy sauce ,1 tsp black vinegar,2 tbsp diced coriander, 2 tbsp diced scallion, 1 to 2 tbsp homemade chilli oil as per taste. Mix together.

step 4

  • STEP 4.4 fill a pot with water and bring it to a boil. Add the wontons to the boiling water. Stir them gently to ensure that they do not stick to the bottom. Cover the pot and let the water come back to a boil.

step 5

  • STEP 5.5 then add ½ cup cold water , cover and let it come back to a boil again.

step 6

  • STEP 6.6 make sure all the wontons are floating on the surface. Take them out of the water using a slotted spoon.

step 7

  • STEP 7.7 add them to the serving bowl with the chilli oil mixture. Check for salt and adjust accordingly.

step 8

  • STEP 8.8 top with diced scallion and serve.
