100 milliliter Water
100 milliliter Ketchup
100 milliliter Rice vinegar
85 gram Rock sugar
1/4 tablespoon Potato starch mix with 1 tablespoon water
None Some salt for seasoning
As required Shanghai style sweet and sour sauce
25 gram Caster sugar
1 tablespoon Water
20 milliliter Light soy sauce
15 milliliter Black vinegar
1/2 can If you use ned pineapple in your sweet and sour dish then you can replace part of the water from the method and make your sweet and sour sauce with the pineapple juice. reduce down the amount of sugar you use a little bit though as canned pineapple juice can be quite sweet. some canned pineapples are less sweet but judge it for yourself
100 milliliter Juice from the canned pineapple. if the amount of the juice is not enough then top up with water
1/4 tablespoon Potato starch mix with 1 tablespoon water
