And this sweet and sour fish dish is one such flavourful and an easy-to-make dish that is surely a crowd-pleaser. The fish pieces are marinated and then deep-fried to perfection to be coated in the flavourful sauces later. The Shaoxing wine and the sauces give the dish the much-needed Chinese flavours.   • 1 tablespoon shaoxing wine
  • 1 Nos Nos fish
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 600 milliliter Oil
  • As required Corn flour
  • 1 Nos garlic cloves
  • 1/2 cm ginger
  • 2 Nos shallots
  • 1 Nos fresh chilli peppers
  • 3/4 Nos capsicum
  • 1 Nos carrot
  • 230 milliliter Water
  • 4 tablespoon tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1.50 tablespoon Sugar
  • 2 tablespoon white vinegar

Steps To Prepare

  • STEP 1.Score fish from both the sides.
  • STEP 2.Marinate fish with salt, pepper, Shaoxing wine and keep it for 15 mins.

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Add oil to a pan & heat it.
  • STEP 2.Coat fish with corn flour and fry it at medium flame until golden brown.
  • STEP 3.For the sweet and sour gravy, add garlic, ginger and saute it.
  • STEP 4.Then add shallots, red chillies, capsicum and carrots.
  • STEP 5.Add water, tomato sauce, oyster sauce, sugar and vinegar.
  • STEP 6.Cook veggies until they are soft, then pour this gravy onto fried fish and serve with steamed rice.
