  • 1/4 cup Grated Bottle Gourd
  • 1/4 cup Dosa Rice
  • 0.13 cup Split Yellow Moong Dal
  • 0.06 cup Chana Dal
  • 0.63 En Chilies
  • 1/4 inch Ginger
  • 0.13 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • As required Salt To Taste

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Soak the lentils and rice together for 4-5 hours.
  • STEP 2.Grind the soaked lentils and rice along with grated bottle gourd, ginger, green chilies, and spices to make a smooth batter.
  • STEP 3.Add salt and mix well. The batter should be of pouring consistency.
  • STEP 4.Heat a tawa or griddle and pour a ladleful of batter onto it. Spread it in a circular motion to form a dosa.
  • STEP 5.Drizzle oil around the edges and cook until the dosa turns golden brown and crispy.
  • STEP 6.Flip the dosa and cook for a minute on the other side.
  • STEP 7.Serve hot with coconut chutney or sambar.
  • STEP 8.Store any leftover batter in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.

Cooking Tips

  • You can add finely chopped onions, curry leaves, or coriander leaves to the batter for extra flavor.
  • Make sure to squeeze out the excess water from the grated bottle gourd before adding it to the batter.
  • If the batter becomes too thick, you can add a little water to adjust the consistency.
