Ingredients for Sukhiyan Recipe

  • 0.09 cup Maida
  • 1/4 tablespoon Rice flour
  • 0.03 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • To Taste Salt
  • As required Oil
  • 0.13 cup Green gram/Mung gram
  • 0.13 No.s Coconut
  • 0.09 cup Sugar
  • 0.38 No.s Cardamom

Directions: Sukhiyan Recipe

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash the green gram and put it into a pressure cooker. Add 2cup water and close the cooker.
  • STEP 2.Turn on the flame and cook the green grams in the pressure cooker. Turn off the flame after 5-6 whistles.
  • STEP 3.Take maida in a bowl. Add 2 tbsp rice flour, salt to taste, ¼ tsp turmeric powder.
  • STEP 4.Gradually add water and mix well to prepare the batter. The consistency of batter should be the same as of idli batter.
  • STEP 5.After the green gram/mung gram cools down. Heat a pan and add the cooked green gram, ¾ cup sugar, grated coconut and cardamom powder. Mix it well. Turn off the flame after 5 mins.
  • STEP 6.After the mixture cools down. Make small balls out of the mixture.
  • STEP 7.Heat oil in a pan.
  • STEP 8.Dip the balls into the batter in such a way that it covers all the sides of the ball. Gently put into the hot oil. Fry the balls.
  • STEP 9.Repeat step 8 for the rest of the balls.
  • STEP 10.Sukhiyan is ready to be served.

Special Comments

  • STEP 1.Wheat flour can be used instead of maida.
  • STEP 2.Corn flour can be used instead of rice flour.
