Ingredients for Suji uttapam Recipe

  • 1/2 cup Rava/suji/semolina
  • 1/2 Tbsp Onion
  • 1.50 tablespoon Curd
  • 1/2 tablespoon oil + oil for pan
  • 0.13 tablespoon mustard seeds
  • 0.13 tablespoon Urad dal
  • 2 As Required Curry leaves
  • to taste Salt

Directions: Suji Uttapam Recipe

  • STEP 1.Heat oil in a kadai. Add mustard seeds and curry, allow them to splutter. Then add urad dal and cook till it turns brown in color.
  • STEP 2.Now add finely chopped onions and sprinkle some salt, cook till the onions are translucent.
  • STEP 3.Take rava in a bowl and add some curd or butter milk.
  • STEP 4.If you have added curd then add some water and make it in a batter form.
  • STEP 5.Now add the onion mixture we prepared and mix, keep it aside for 15 minutes.
  • STEP 6.Heat the appe skillet and add a drop of oil in each of it's grooves.
  • STEP 7.When the oil is hot enough add a spoon full of rava mixture we prepared in each appe grooves.
  • STEP 8.Cover the pan with any plate or lid and cook for 2 - 3 minutes.
  • STEP 9.Flip the appam with the help of a spoon and cook for another 2 minutes. Instant rava appam/appe/paniyaram are ready. Serve them hot with peanut & coriander chutney.
