Ingredients for Suji idli Recipe

  • 1/2 cup 1 cup
  • 1/2 cup ▢1 cup
  • 1/2 As Required ▢½ tsp
  • As Required ▢¼ cup
  • As Required ▢¼ tsp eno fruit salt or pinch of baking

Directions: Suji Idli Recipe

  • STEP 1.irstly, in a large pan roast 1 cup rava for 5 minutes or till it turns aromatic.
  • STEP 2.allow it to cool completely, and transfer roasted rava to a mixing bowl.
  • STEP 3.add in 1 cup curd, ½ tsp salt and combine well without forming any lumps.
  • STEP 4.allow to rest for 20 minutes or till rava / sooji absorbs water.
  • STEP 5.again add ¼ cup water or as required to prepare idli batter consistency.
  • STEP 6.just before steaming the idlis, add in ¼ tsp eno fruit salt or pinch of baking soda and give a gentle mix.
  • STEP 7.pour the batter immediately onto greased idli plate.
  • STEP 8.steam them on medium flame for 15 minutes or till the idli are cooked completely.
  • STEP 9.finally, serve soft sooji idli or plain rava idli along with chutney and sambar.
