  • 1/2 Small Onion, Finely Chopped
  • 1 Green Chilies, Finely Chopped

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a mixing bowl, combine suji (semolina), yogurt, and water to make a thick batter.
  • STEP 2.Add finely chopped onions, green chilies, grated carrots, and coriander leaves to the batter.
  • STEP 3.Season with salt, turmeric powder, and baking soda. Mix well.
  • STEP 4.Heat an appe pan and add a few drops of oil in each cavity.
  • STEP 5.Pour a spoonful of batter into each cavity and cook on low heat.
  • STEP 6.Once the bottom side turns golden brown, flip the appe using a skewer or spoon.
  • STEP 7.Cook until both sides are evenly golden brown and crispy.
  • STEP 8.Remove from the pan and serve hot with coconut chutney or sambar.

Cooking Tips

  • Make sure the batter is thick and not too runny to get the perfect texture of appe.
  • You can add grated vegetables of your choice to make the appe more nutritious.
  • Cook the appe on low heat to ensure they are cooked evenly and don't burn.
