Ingredients for Stuffed Misal Mastani Recipe

  • As required Ingredients for Batter
  • As required • ½ cup misal mix (mixed pulses
  • 3 nos soaked – hrs)
  • As required • ½ cup Aashirvaad suji (semolina)
  • 1/5 tbsp • spinach purée
  • As required • Chilli–ginger paste (as per taste)
  • 1/5 tbsp • curd
  • 1/5 tbsp • peanut oil
  • As required • Pinch of sugar
  • As required • Rock salt (to taste)
  • 1/5 tsp • eno soda

  • 1/5 tsp • oil
  • As required • ⅛ tsp Aashirvaad rai (mustard seeds)
  • As required • Pinch of hing (asafoetida)
  • As required • Pinch of haldi (turmeric)
  • 1/5 tsp • chilli paste
  • 1/5 nos • boiled
  • As required mashed potato
  • As required • Rock salt (to taste)
  • As required • ½ tbsp chopped coriander leaves

Directions: Stuffed Misal Mastani Recipe

  • STEP 1.Method for Batter
  • STEP 2.1. Coarsely grind the soaked misal mix.
  • STEP 3.2. Add suji, spinach purée, chilli–ginger paste, curd, and oil. Mix well.
  • STEP 4.3. Rest for 10–15 minutes.
  • STEP 5.Method for Stuffing
  • STEP 6.1. Heat oil in a kadai. Add rai for tempering.
  • STEP 7.2. Add hing, haldi, and chilli paste.
  • STEP 8.3. Mix in mashed potato, salt, and coriander leaves. Keep aside.
  • STEP 9.Steaming & Final Assembly
  • STEP 10.1. Grease a round tin with oil.
  • STEP 11.2. Just before steaming, add salt, sugar, and eno to the batter. Mix lightly.
  • STEP 12.3. Pour half the batter into the greased tin.
  • STEP 13.4. Place the potato stuffing in the center.
  • STEP 14.5. Cover with remaining batter and steam till cooked.
  • STEP 15.6. Unmould carefully.
  • STEP 16.Garnish & Plating
  • STEP 17.• Garnish with hung curd and red chilli powder.
