Directions: Stuffed Karela With Onion Masala Recipe

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash the bitter gourd (karela) and cut them lengthwise. Remove the seeds and sprinkle salt on them. Keep aside for 30 minutes.
  • STEP 2.Meanwhile, heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  • STEP 3.Add ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for a minute.
  • STEP 4.Stuff the onion masala mixture into the bitter gourd and secure with toothpicks.
  • STEP 5.Heat oil in a pan and place the stuffed bitter gourd. Cook on low heat until they are tender and slightly browned.
  • STEP 6.Serve hot with roti or rice.
