Directions: Stuffed Dal Dhokli Recipe

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a bowl, mix together gram flour, wheat flour, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, oil, and water to make a soft dough.
  • STEP 2.Divide the dough into small portions and roll them into thin circles.
  • STEP 3.In a separate bowl, mix together gram flour, ginger-garlic paste, green chili paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, salt, and oil to make a stuffing mixture.
  • STEP 4.Place a spoonful of the stuffing mixture in the center of each dough circle and fold it to seal the edges.
  • STEP 5.In a pressure cooker, heat oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida, curry leaves, and green chilies.
  • STEP 6.Add the stuffed dumplings to the cooker and pour in the lentil curry.
  • STEP 7.Close the pressure cooker and cook for 2-3 whistles.
  • STEP 8.Once the pressure is released, open the cooker and garnish with coriander leaves.
  • STEP 9.Serve hot with yogurt or pickle.

  • Make sure the dough for the dumplings is soft and pliable to ensure easy rolling.
  • You can adjust the spice level of the stuffing mixture according to your preference.
  • If you don't have a pressure cooker, you can cook the stuffed dumplings in a deep pan with a lid.
