A popular street style snack of tawa fried mashed potato & chickpea with tikka masala filled in a a bun with green chutney onions and a sprinkling of chaat masala chaat. The chatpata maza of street buns at home and try this amazing fusion recipe to enjoy with your family and friends. All it takes is some onions, buns and the preferred choice for the stuffing.

Ingredients for Street Style Mini Bun Kebab Recipe

  • 1/2 No.s Onion Finely Chopped
  • 1/2 No.s Tomato deseeded, finely chopped
  • 1/2 No.s Green chilli finely chopped
  • 1/2 tablespoon Oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 No.s Potato boiled, peeled and cubed
  • 3/4 teaspoon Tikka masala
  • 1 tablespoon Chickpeas
  • 1/4 teaspoon Lemon juice
  • As required Green chutney
  • As required Onion slices
  • As required Chaat masala
  • As required Buns

Directions: Street Style Mini Bun Kebab Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Heat a tawa and add 1tbsp oil. When oil is hot add ½ tsp cumin seeds and stir for a few seconds. Then add 1 medium onion finely chopped. Saute until the onion is translucent.

  • STEP 1.Then add 1 deseeded tomato finely chopped and 1 green chilli finely chopped. Mix together. Cover and cook till the tomato is soft.

  • STEP 1.Add 1 ½ tsp tikka masala or to taste and mix.

  • STEP 1.Next add 2 boiled and cubed potatoes. Mash well on the tawa with the masala and mix. Scrape the tawa to remove any stuck potato. Mix it well.

  • STEP 1.Drizzle a little oil over the potato mixture and stir.

  • STEP 1.Add 2 tbsp or one handful boiled chickpeas (chole) and sprinkle a little water. Mash and mix the chickpea into the potato mixture.

  • STEP 1.Then add 2 to 3 tbsp of water, scrape the tawa with the spatula and mix well. Cover and cook for 2 minutes.

step 8

  • STEP 1.Uncover the mixture, add ½ tsp lemon juice and mix. With the ladle/ spatula gather all the chickpea and potato masala to the centre of the tawa to form a mound. Drizzle some oil around it.
