A savour full spicy dish prepared from stir fried clams and fermented soybean. Stir-fried clams with fermented soybean is a favourite dish in Malaysia and Singapore. Its savouriness and mild spiciness make it amazingly appetizing. Asian clams or 'lala' is delicious when cooked with fermented soybeans, also known as taucu. While there are many ways of cooking clams, stir frying them in a savoury and spicy sauce is the best way to turn them into an appetizing dish.

Ingredients for Stir Fried Clamswith Taucu Recipe

  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 5 gram Ginger
  • 1 Nos garlic cloves
  • 1 Nos shallots
  • 1 tablespoon fermented soybean paste
  • 4 tablespoon Water
  • 1 Nos fresh chilli peppers
  • As required Salt
  • 1/2 tablespoon Sugar
  • 160 gram Clams
  • 1 Nos scallions

step 1

  • STEP 1.Thinly slice ginger. Mince garlic and slice shallots. Add oil in a pan and heat it. Then add thinly sliced ginger and garlic. Saute until fragrant.

step 2

  • STEP 1.Add taucu followed by water, chilli slices and then allow the gravy to cook at high flame. Add salt as per taste and sugar too. After the gravy boils add the clams and scallions. Cook until clams open.
