Thai style stink beans fried with shrimp and southern Thai curry paste is one of my favorite dishes in the world.Easy and quick to prepare.prepare in less time.Creamy and salty and spicy in taste.Yummy and delicious dish.This recipe can also be prepared from the comfort of your home.

Ingredients for Stink Beans (Pad Sataw) Recipe

  • 6 pods Stink beans
  • 2 heaping spoon of southern curry paste
  • 400 gram Shrimp
  • 1 tablespoon Oyster Sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon shrimp paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Sugar
  • 4-5 Kaffir lime leaves
  • As required Oil For Frying

Directions: Stink Beans (pad Sataw) Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Stink beans- cut the ends of the stink beans and then diagonally cut on top beans, then remove the outer skin with your hand and take out the beans (there might be a white layer sometimes remove that also). The beans are beautiful olive in color.

step 2

  • STEP 2.Shrimp- pluck off the head and then peel the shell from the body. Slice the shrimp from the middle, keep the tail on and remove the black nerve if there’s any. Wash the shrimp well.

  • STEP 3.In a wok at medium flame add 2-3 tbsp oil, once the oil starts sizzling, add 2 heaping spoons of thai southern curry paste, ½ tsp shrimp paste and start frying the curry paste.

  • STEP 4.Keep stirring the curry paste or else it might burn. Stir the curry paste for 30secs to 1mins and then add the shrimps and mix it well with the paste and fry them.

step 5

  • STEP 5.If it starts getting dry and sticky, add a little amount of water to maintain the consistency.

step 6

  • STEP 6.Now add the stinky beans and fry them for more 30 secs and keep stirring. now add the oyster sauce and sugar, mix them well and keep stirring them. If needed you can always add a splash of water.
