Ingredients for Steamed Poha Donuts Recipe

  • 0.33 cup poha
  • 0.33 cup Semolina
  • 0.17 cup Curd
  • 0.33 tsp cumin-ajwain powder
  • 0.33 g 1-2 green chillies
  • 0.33 tsp Grated ginger
  • 0.33 tsp Oil
  • 0.33 tsp 1-2 tsp
  • 0.33 tsp baking soda/ENO
  • 0.33 tsp Red chilli powder
  • 0.33 g To garnish handful coriander leaves
  • 0.33 g (Water for steaming)
  • 0.33 g For Tempering
  • 0.33 tsp Oil
  • 0.67 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1.33 Pieces Few leaves Curry
  • 0.33 inch Pinch asafoetida

Directions: Steamed Poha Donuts Recipe

  • STEP 1.Wash poha properly with water 2-3 times, remove excess water and keep aside for 5 minutes.
  • STEP 2.Now in grinder add poha, semolina,curd, ginger and grind it
  • STEP 3.Remove the batter in a mixing bowl, add sugar, salt, cumin -ajwain powder, mix well and rest for 10 minutes. Grease plate with oil.
  • STEP 4.Check constancy of batter if too thick add some water if too watery then add some semolina.
  • STEP 5.Now in a batter add soda/eno mix well . Now pour spoonful of batter on greased plate keeping proper distance. Now make a hole on each poured batter. Meanwhile boil water for steaming.
  • STEP 6.Now steam the donuts for 10 minutes, 4 minutes on high flame and 6 minutes on low flame.
  • STEP 7.Tempering/Tadka - In a pan heat 1 tbsp oil, add mustard seeds lets splutter it, add asafoetida and curry leaves. Pour this on prepared Donuts.
  • STEP 8.Now sprinkle some coriander leaves and red chilli powder on donuts.
  • STEP 9.Health, tasty Steamed Poha Donut is ready to serve.
  • STEP 10.You can serve with sambar or coconut or futana Dal chutney.
