Ingredients for Steamed cake with lentil and rice . Recipe

  • 1/4 gram Skinless Black-
  • 1/2 cups : Rice-
  • As required : Salt - To taste
  • As required For stuffing
  • 0-1/2 cups : Grated coconut
  • 1/4 cup : Jaggery -
  • 1/4 tbsp : Crushed black pepper-

Directions: Steamed Cake With Lentil And Rice . Recipe

  • STEP 1.1. for stuffing, heat a pan . Add 1 cup of jaggery .cook till jaggery melts .Add 2 cups of grated coconut .Mix it thoroughly .Add 1 tbsp crushed black pepper .Mix it well and switch of the flame .
  • STEP 2.2.Take 1 cup overnight soaked black and 2 cups of soaked rice in a bowl . Grind it to a fine paste .allow it to ferment . If the batter becomes puffed up and bubbly. then it is ready to use .
  • STEP 3.3.To steam, take a earthen pot and fill it halfway with water .Tie a clean cotton cloth around the top of it .
  • STEP 4.4. Add salt according to taste into the batter and mix it well.
  • STEP 5.5. When the steam comes out of the pot .Then It is ready to pour the batter.
  • STEP 6.6. Pour a layer of the batter on the top of the cloth .
  • STEP 7.7. Spread a layer of coconut - jaggery stuffing over the batter .
  • STEP 8.8. Cover it with another layer of batter . Then cover it with the lid .
  • STEP 9.9. It will take 25 - 30 minutes to cook .
  • STEP 10.10. Steam it till it is cooked .
  • STEP 11.11. Switch off the flame and let it cool down .
  • STEP 12.12 Cut it into pieces & steamed cake is ready .
