Tender fish cooked in coconut milk along with shredded coconut and freshly ground spices makes sri lankan fish curry a perfectly balanced creamy and spices dish.
STEP 1.In a bowl take your fish and add turmeric powder, lemon juice and give it a stir. And keep it aside to marinate.

STEP 1.Dry roast all the Jaffna powder ingredients and grind them using a blender.

STEP 1.In a pan take some coconut oil and add mustard seeds, cinnamon stick, pandan leaves, curry leaves, chopped onions, ginger garlic paste, chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder and freshly prepared jaffna powder.

STEP 1.Now add chopped red chilli, grated coconut and a dash of water.

STEP 1.Now add some tamarind paste, give it a stir and let it cook for 5 minutes.

STEP 1.After 5 minutes add fresh coconut milk and your marinated fish.

STEP 1.Stir it well and let it simmer with a lid on for 5-7 minutes.

STEP 1.Give it a nice stir and your Sri Lankan fish curry is ready to be served.
