A nepali dish made with potatoes, cucumber, tomatoes, peas and onions seasoned with seeds, spics and oils. Nepali aloo ko achar- simple and flavourful potato pickle recipe. Sliced cucumbers, radishes and green chillies can also be added in these pickles also with Timur which is a nepali spoce with a very strong and tongue tickling flavour.

  • 20 gram boiled and peeled potatoes
  • 40 gram cucumber
  • 20 gram Cherry Tomatoes
  • 10 gram green peas
  • 1/10 No.s Onion
  • 10 gram white sesame seeds
  • 0.40 No.s green chillies
  • 0.40 No.s garlic cloves
  • 1/5 inch Ginger
  • 1/20 teaspoon fenugreek seeds
  • 1/20 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/20 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 0.40-0.60 tablespoon Oil
  • As required Salt
  • 0.40 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • As required A few Coriander leaves

step 1

  • STEP 1.heat a pan and add sesame seeds to it and dry roast them.

  • STEP 1. grind the seeds into a fine powder.

step 3

  • STEP 1.chop the boiled potatoes, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, onions, coriander leaves and add green peas in a bowl.

step 4

  • STEP 1.to this bowl add the sesame seeds powder.

step 5

  • STEP 1.slice up ginger, garlic,chillies and add them to the bowl.

step 6

  • STEP 1.now season it with some red chili powder, coriander powder and salt.

step 7

  • STEP 1.heat some oil in a pan and add fenugreek seeds, turmeric powder and pour this oil in the bowl and mix everything.

step 8

  • STEP 1. finally add lemon juice, mix all the ingredients and your spicy potato and cucumber pickle salad is ready to be served.
