  • 1/4 cup Yogurt
  • 1/4 tablespoon Oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon Mustard Seeds

  • 0.63 En Chilies, Slit

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Cook the rice and let it cool completely.
  • STEP 2.In a bowl, whisk the yogurt until smooth and creamy.
  • STEP 3.Add the cooked rice to the yogurt and mix well.
  • STEP 4.Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. Once they start to splutter, add curry leaves and green chilies.
  • STEP 5.Pour the tempering over the curd rice and mix well.
  • STEP 6.Add salt and chopped coriander leaves. Mix again.
  • STEP 7.Serve the spicy curd rice chilled or at room temperature.

Storage and Serving

  • Spicy curd rice can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 1-2 days.
  • Before serving, let the curd rice come to room temperature or slightly warm it in the microwave.
  • Serve spicy curd rice as a main dish or as a side dish with spicy curries, pickles, or papad.
