  • 1/2 cup Cracked Wheat
  • 0.13 cup Split Yellow Moong Dal
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • as per your need A Few Curry Leaves
  • 1/2 Onion, Chopped
  • 1 Green Chilies, Chopped
  • 1/2 inch Ginger, Grated
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1.50 cup Water
  • As required Salt To Taste
  • as needed Fresh Coriander Leaves For Garnish

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak the cracked wheat and lentils for 30 minutes.
  • STEP 2.In a pressure cooker, heat oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and curry leaves.
  • STEP 3.Add chopped onions, green chilies, and ginger. Saute until onions turn golden brown.
  • STEP 4.Add turmeric powder, cracked wheat, lentils, and water. Pressure cook for 3-4 whistles.
  • STEP 5.Once the pressure releases, open the cooker and mix well. Add salt and garnish with coriander leaves.
  • STEP 6.Serve hot with coconut chutney or sambar.
