Ingredients for Spicy Braised Beef Recipe

  • 600 gram Beef
  • 6 No.s Garlic Cloves
  • 2 No.s Spring onions
  • 1 bunch Coriander
  • 10 gram Ginger
  • 1 No.s Star anise
  • 6 No.s Dried red chillies
  • 2 tablespoon Cooking wine
  • 10 gram Cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Yellow bean sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Light soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar

Directions: Spicy Braised Beef Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.in a saucepan bring 1 litre water to a boil, add 600 gm beef cut into bite size chunks and boil for 1 minute. Then remove and drain the beef.

step 2

  • STEP 1. in a wok heat 1 tsp oil, add 2 spring onions cut into 1 inch pieces, 6 cloves of sliced garlic, 10 gm sliced ginger, 1 star anise, 6 dried chilies, 10 gm cinnamon and stir fry for a few seconds.

  • STEP 1.add the blanched beef pieces, and stir fry for 2 minutes.

step 4

  • STEP 1.add 1 tsp yellow bean sauce ,1 tsp light soy sauce, 2 tsp cooking wine and stir fry for 1 minute.

step 5

  • STEP 1.add water to just cover the beef and bring it to a boil.

step 6

  • STEP 1. turn the heat to low, cover the pan and simmer for 90 minutes.

step 7

  • STEP 1.then uncover the pan, add 1 tsp sugar and stir.

step 8

  • STEP 1. add a small bunch of roughly chopped coriander and stir.

step 9

  • STEP 1. transfer to a dish and serve.
