Rainy, gloomy dark days calls for some hot beverages.. This is one of my favourite chocolatey drink i usually prepare for a rainy day and enjoy wuth some plain cookies.

Ingredients for Spiced Hot Cocoa Recipe

  • 1 tablespoons Dutch cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 1/2 inch 1 pinch
  • 1 cups Whole milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon ½ teaspoon
  • 1 Pieces Cinnamon sticks
  • 1/2 Pieces Star anise
  • 1/2 teaspoon Nutmeg Powder: Optional
  • 1 g Chocolate grated
  • 1 As Required For Ganishing Some shredded chocolate

Directions: Spiced Hot Cocoa Recipe

  • STEP 1.Add cocoa powder, sugar and salt to a small saucepan, and stir to combine.
  • STEP 2.Add 2 tbsp of cold milk, and whisk until the cocoa powder is dissolved.
  • STEP 3.Add the remaining milk to the pot. Turn the heat on to medium, and whisk to combine the ingredients.
  • STEP 4.Add the remaining ingredients, and simmer gently over medium heat, stirring often, for about 10 minutes.
  • STEP 5.For a mild flavour, remove from heat and serve immediately. For a stronger flavour, remove from heat and allow to cool before placing in the fridge or 1-2 hours. See notes for more details.
  • STEP 6.Garnish as desired
