Spaghetti tossed in homemade basil pesto sauce served with black olives. t will thin out the pesto so it coats everything nicely and creates a glossy pesto sauce that coats every bit of pasta. The starch in the water emulsifies with the pesto, which simply means the fat in the pesto + starch in the water thickens. Just like when you shake up salad dressings. It’s the proper way to make pastas, a technique used in every Italian household and restaurants all over the world.

Ingredients for Spaghetti In Basil Pesto Sauce Recipe

  • 300 gram Spaghetti
  • 200 gram Fresh Basil leaves
  • 1/4 cup Walnuts
  • 1/4 teaspoon Red chilly powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin powder
  • As required Salt
  • 1/4 cup Olive oil
  • 4 Garlic Cloves
  • 1/4 cup Water for grinding
  • 1 flakes Red chilli crushed black pepper tsp
  • 2 tablespoon Black Olives Sliced

Directions: Spaghetti In Basil Pesto Sauce Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Put a large pot of water on the heat and add 300 gm spaghetti. Boil the spaghetti for 5 to 6 minutes or till it is ‘el dente’ which is a firm texture and not soft. Depending on the quantity of pasta the cooking time will differ. Once the spaghetti is cooked strain off the water immediately and rinse it under cool water to stop the cooking process. Strain the water off well. Add 1 tsp of olive oil to avoid the pasta sticking together. Toss the pasta well and keep it aside.

  • STEP 1.To make the basil pesto, in a small jar of the mixer grinder, add 200 grams fresh basil leaves, ¼ cup walnuts, ¼ tsp red chilly powder, ½ tsp cumin powder, salt to taste, ¼ cup olive oil, 4 cloves of garlic and ¼ cup water and grind to a smooth paste.pesto sauce is ready.

step 3

  • STEP 1.In a pan add 1tbsp extra virgin olive oil, when it is hot add the required amount of spaghetti and for each serving add 3tbsp pesto sauce, 1 tsp red chilli flakes of crushed peppercorns and 2 tbsp black sliced olives.

  • STEP 1.Toss the contents of the pan together well. At this stage cream can be added to make it creamy.
