  • 1/4 cup Soya Granules
  • 1/4 cup Idli Batter
  • 1/4 Onion, Finely Chopped
  • 1/4 Tomato, Finely Chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • as per your need A Few Curry Leaves
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 0.13 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Coriander Powder
  • 0.13 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 1/2 tablespoon Oil
  • As required Salt To Taste

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a pan, heat oil and add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, and curry leaves.
  • STEP 2.Add chopped onions and saute until golden brown.
  • STEP 3.Add ginger-garlic paste and saute for a minute.
  • STEP 4.Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft.
  • STEP 5.Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and garam masala. Mix well.
  • STEP 6.Add soya granules and cook for a few minutes.
  • STEP 7.In a separate bowl, prepare the idli batter.
  • STEP 8.Grease the idli molds and pour a spoonful of batter in each mold.
  • STEP 9.Place a spoonful of the soya masala filling on top of the batter in each mold.
  • STEP 10.Cover the molds with more batter and steam the idlis for 10-12 minutes.
  • STEP 11.Remove the idlis from the molds and serve hot with chutney or sambar.

  • You can add grated vegetables like carrots or peas to the soya masala filling.
  • Make sure the idli batter is smooth and of pouring consistency.
  • You can add a pinch of baking soda to the batter for extra softness.
