  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • as required A Few Curry Leaves
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • As required Salt To Taste
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Seeds
  • as needed Fresh Coriander Leaves For Garnish

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Peel and chop the bottle gourd into small pieces.
  • STEP 2.Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and curry leaves.
  • STEP 3.Add chopped bottle gourd, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook until the bottle gourd is tender.
  • STEP 4.In a separate pan, dry roast sesame seeds until they turn golden brown. Let them cool and grind them into a fine powder.
  • STEP 5.Add the roasted sesame powder to the cooked bottle gourd and mix well.
  • STEP 6.Cook for a few more minutes until the flavors are well combined.
  • STEP 7.Serve hot with rice or roti.

  • Make sure to choose a fresh and tender bottle gourd for the best taste.
  • You can adjust the spice level according to your preference by adding more or less red chili powder.
