Snake Gourd Thoran Recipe

Sauteed snake gourd finished with freshly grated coconut. Snake guard padavalanga is one of the easiest dishes to prepare. A variety favorite that goes well with the accompaniment of hot rice. Ingredients for Snake Gourd Thoran Recipe

  • 1 teaspoon Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 2 sprig Curry leaves
  • 2 Green chillies slit
  • 2 Snake gourd peeled, halved, deseed and cut into thin slices Nos
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 cup Freshly grated coconut
  • As required Salt

Directions: Snake Gourd Thoran Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.In a preheated pan add1 tsp oil, ½ tsp mustard seeds and allow them to crackle. Then add 2 sprigs curry leaves, 2 slit green chillies and stir for a few seconds.

step 2

  • STEP 1.Next add 2 snake gourd, peeled, halved, deseed and cut into thin slices. Add salt to taste and mix well.

step 3

  • STEP 1.Then sprinkle a little water over the vegetable and cover till the snake gourd is cooked but still firm.

step 4

  • STEP 1.Add ½ tsp turmeric powder and ½ cup freshly grated coconut. Mix well. Turn off the heat.
