  • 0.17 Medium to large cabbage
  • 0.83 Pieces Medium Sized Sweet Potatoes, Peeled And Grated

Directions: Smoked Pork Butt With Potatoes And Cabbage Recipe

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Rinse the pork butt under cold water and pat it dry with paper towels. Rub the pork butt generously with barbecue seasoning. You can use a pre-made rub or make your own by combining spices like paprika, brown sugar, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • STEP 2.Place the seasoned pork butt on the smoker grates, fat side up. Close the smoker and maintain a steady temperature of 110-120°C. Smoke the pork butt for several hours, allowing it to cook until the internal temperature reaches around 90-96°C. This can take anywhere from 6 to 10 hours, depending on the size of the pork butt.
  • STEP 3.While the pork is smoking, you can prepare the potatoes and cabbage. In a large skillet or pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and chopped onion, and sauté until they become translucent.
  • STEP 4.Add the sliced cabbage and potatoes to the pan, and season with salt and pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are tender and slightly caramelized. Once the pork butt reaches the desired internal temperature, remove it from the smoker.
  • STEP 5.Wrap the smoked pork butt in aluminum foil and let it rest for about 30 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute and makes the meat more tender. Slice the smoked pork butt against the grain into thin slices.
  • STEP 6.Serve the smoked pork slices alongside the sautéed potatoes and cabbage. You can also add a dollop of barbecue sauce if desired. Enjoy your delicious smoked pork butt with potatoes and cabbage!
