  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 2 cloves Cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 2 tablespoon Chopped Fresh Parsley
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 8 Slices Bread
  • 4 tablespoon Butter, Softened
  • 1 cup Grated Asiago Cheese
  • as needed Marinara Sauce, For Dipping

Directions: Smashed Meatball & Asiago Grilled Cheese Recipe

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • STEP 2.In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic, parsley, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  • STEP 3.Shape the mixture into small meatballs and place them on a baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until cooked through.
  • STEP 4.Remove the meatballs from the oven and let them cool slightly. Using a fork, smash the meatballs until they are flattened.
  • STEP 5.Heat a skillet over medium heat and butter one side of each slice of bread.
  • STEP 6.Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, in the skillet. Top with smashed meatballs and grated Asiago cheese. Place the second slice of bread on top, buttered side up.
