  • 30 milliliter Chinese cooking wine or use dry sherry
  • 3/4 tablespoon Sukrin gold or dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 Onions sliced thinly
  • 1.25 Garlic cloves minced
  • 1/2 tablespoon Ginger paste or fresh grated ginger
  • 1.25 Spring onions finely sliced
  • 3/4 Star anise
  • 1/4 stick Cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon Chinese five spice
  • 0.06 teaspoon Szechuan peppercorns crushed
  • 1/4 tablespoon Cornflour dissolved in a little cold water
  • 1/4 Red chilli finely sliced, to serve
