Ingredients for Sindhi Karela Bhaji Recipe

  • 2 Karela deseeded and sliced Nos
  • 2 tablespoon Water for pressure cooking
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 inch Ginger finely chopped
  • 5 Garlic finely chopped cloves
  • 2 Green chillies chopped Nos
  • 2 Onions thinly sliced Nos
  • 2 Tomatoes finely chopped Nos
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 2 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cardamom powder
  • 1 teaspoon Anardana powder
  • 1/4 cup Curd
  • As required Salt
  • As required Coriander to garnish

Directions: Sindhi Karela Bhaji Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.-1)in a pressure cooker add 2 deseeded and sliced karela, add 2 tbsp water and salt to taste. Pressure cook for 2 whistles and release the pressure immediately.

step 2

  • STEP 2.-2)in a preheated pan add 1 tbsp oil and 1 tsp cumin seeds. Allow it to crackle. Then add 1 inch finely chopped ginger, 5 cloves garlic finely chopped, 2 chopped green chillies and saute for a few seconds.

  • STEP 3.-3)next add 2 thinly sliced onions and cook until onions are soft and golden brown.

step 4

  • STEP 4.-4)then add 2 finely chopped tomatoes and stir for a few seconds.

step 5

  • STEP 5.-5)add ½ tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp kashmiri red chilli powder,2 tsp coriander powder, 1 tsp cardamom powder, 1 tsp anardana powder and salt to taste. Mix all the ingredients together.

step 6

  • STEP 6.-6)add ¼ cup curd and saute till the masala thickens.

step 7

  • STEP 7.-7)now add the cooked karela slices and mix well to combine with the masala.

step 8

  • STEP 8.-8)cover and cook for 5 minutes.stir in chopped coriander leaves.
